Cruising amd wakeboarding back and forth on the Murray River, (South Australia) gave the wakeboard traveller a chance to see how some of the other people live their weekends on the banks of the Mighty Murray.
If you are lucky and know someone with a ‘shack’ up the river, you know you are in for a great week-end.
The word ‘shack’ still applies up here when you talk about where you are staying. Let me tell you it does not mean a shanty little one bedroom lean too.
The term shack here on the river can easily mean 6 – 8 bedroom mansion with manicured lawns, personal boat ramps and sandy beaches to ski in and out of.
Where to Stay
No luck with a shack?
Ok. You may like to hire a house boat at Manum where you will find a plethora of choices to suit ANY wakeboarding budget. Or you can find accomodation in any of the many towns in the Murraylands area. Also, a short two hour drive from Adelaide is a popular Youth Camp – Ankara, located on the banks of the Murray at Walkers Flat.
